| Custom Designs We welcome design professionals whose projects require more than production styles of hardware. Our blacksmiths and bronze pattern-makers are able to create the custom hardware to fit your project. Our hand forged iron styles are all “from the anvil” hand-made. The material is mild steel and is heated in hot coal until red-hot. The blacksmith then hammers the piece into the desired style. While the hardware is all hand made, the internal working components include brass bushings to provide the smoothest operation possible. Many companies offer hardware that is called forged, but is actually cast from forged patterns. There is no comparison to real hand forged products that come with either the traditional hot wax finish or with custom patinas. Should you have a project requiring a custom style of hardware, be it hand-forged iron or solid bronze, we would be pleased to review any photos or drawings of your requirements. Upon review, we will quote lead times and costs for development. Custom Patinas Our Santa Fe patina artists offer exceptional custom patinas in both hand-forged iron and solid bronze. Our hand-forged iron faux rust looks better than the real thing, and being created with heat and chemicals, it does not impair the workings of the hardware like real rust. Custom patinas can add highlights of bronze, rose, browns, and other color tones to create the perfect complement for the door and the overall color theme of your project. Architectural Styles Our hardware is based on European and contemporary styles. While some of the work fits extraordinarily well with rustic architecture, our Art Nouveau, Art Deco, East-West, and Soho styles complement the most sophisticated architectural styles. Warranty Our hand-forged iron hardware comes with a lifetime warranty. So long as the hardware has not been improperly used, we will repair or replace it at our option. This guarantee only covers hand forged components -- locking mechanisms made by others, as well as patinas, are not covered. We are not aware of any company that provides a comparable guarantee! Our solid bronze hardware comes with a three-year warranty. This does not cover patinas as they will age over time with exposure to the elements. |
